Doug Grimmett

President, Founder

With more than twenty years' experience in design for motion media, Doug has received over 200 national and international awards in advertising, design and broadcast. As the founder of Primal Screen, he has served as Creative Director on all Primal Screen projects. His deep experience emphasizes children's entertainment brands including Nickelodeon, Disney, Cartoon Network, and Boomerang. Recently he served as president of AIGA Atlanta and is a frequent lecturer and author on the future of kids media and design in general.

Jane Grimmett

CFO, Principal

Before Primal Screen's founding, Jane was well-entrenched in the New York print design world, working as an art director for such esteemed firms as Bloomingdales, Lord & Taylor and M&Co. Today, she trusts others with the design, while we trust her with the money - which is to say, contracts, human resources, client outreach and so much more.

Rick Newcomb

Creative Director, Principal

Rick has over a dozen years of experience at Primal Screen as a motion graphics designer, art director, and creative director. He has led many award winning projects, creating opening title sequences, music videos, network campaigns, promotional graphics and commercials for such diverse clients as Cartoon Network, CNN, Nickelodeon, PBS, TCM and the Sundance Film Festival. He has a BFA from Georgia State University.

Stephen Mank

Principal, Composer, Sound Designer, Writer

In his 16 years with Primal Screen, Stephen has composed music and created sound design for more than a thousand projects. His work has accompanied hundreds of award-winning pieces for television and film. As a writer, he's written scripts for such networks as Lifetime, Spike, Cartoon Network, and PBS as well as for advertising clients and journals. A graduate of Davidson College and founding president of ASIFA-Atlanta, he often lectures on design, animation and music/sound.

Brandon Bentley

Technology Supervisor

After graduating from Georgia Tech, Brandon wanted to get away from "techie types." So he came to work at Primal Screen where he's our techie type - handling tape and digital deliveries, running the capture rig on live-action shoots, editing video and programming.

Chris Silich

Designer/Developer

As a strategic planner and programmer on most of our online projects, Chris brings a great understanding of efficient ways to implement intriguing animation and design. He's that rare designer who feels just as comfortable coding as in the creative realm. And he's not stingy with his skills - Chris is an instructor at Georgia State University.

Ciara Cordasco

Graphic Designer

A recent graduate of the University of Florida, Ciara is already an alum of many award-winning projects here at Primal Screen. In addition to her formidable computer skills, she is often called on for her tactile talents which include stitching, screen-printing and model making.

Dale Bradshaw

Technology Director

Dale has extensive interactive design and implementation experience. He has served as the technical director of all interactive projects that Primal Screen has executed. Prior to joining Primal Screen, Dale worked exclusively in interactive web design, building large corporate sites such as Celebrity Cruises, Russell Athletic and The University of Phoenix. Dale has an MA in graphic design.

Donald Emerson

Senior Art Director

Since 2000 Donald has built design and motion animation for a wide variety of clients, with a concentration in kids media. He received his B.F.A. in design from Georgia State University and has returned there to lecture. He often helms large, sweeping projects, and outside of his work at Primal Screen, Donald is an accomplished music video director. Plus, he is our best in-house resource for the "comics" aesthetic.

Doug Tobin

Director of Interactive Projects

With 15 years' experience project managing multi-disciplinary design teams, Doug's duties have included design for online, environments, product innovation, research, packaging and visual communications. A graduate of Earlham College, he led teams at Philips Electronics and Deloitte prior to his work at Primal Screen.

Fumi Yozawa

Animation Director

A master of 3D computer animation, Fumi has created many memorable animated characters for broadcast and the web. She has served as animation director and lead designer on a variety of award-winning pieces, in 2D as well as 3D, such as the PBS Island interactive gaming project. She has often been the link between internet and on-air components of transmedia jobs.

Giulia Bundesmann

General Manager

A graduate of the University of Maryland, Giulia's background includes a vast array of broadcast-media roles, including producer, production manager, post-house manager and communications trainer. And while her decade with Primal Screen has kept her bouncing, we have yet to take advantage of her world class pogo sticking.

Hunter Matheson

Executive Producer

While completing his BFA at The Atlanta College of Art, Hunter took on a cel animation internship at Primal Screen. He went on to work as an animator in several Atlanta studios on a number of successful shows. He returned to Primal Screen as a Producer and has steadily risen to become our Executive Producer. His thorough knowledge and experience in the animation industry has cemented a smooth production process from start to finish on every one of the 400-plus jobs he has overseen.

Jeremy Seymour

Animation Director

Equally adept at traditional, hand-drawn and Flash animation, Jeremy has been an animation design director for 12 years. A graduate of Columbus College of Art and Design, Jeremy leads most of the 2-D animated projects at Primal Screen, including the ongoing kids series, El Perro y El Gato on HBO Family. In addition, he is an imaginative illustrator who lends his talent to many non-animation pieces.

Joe Kubesheski

Animation Director

Most of Primal Screen's award-winning, animation projects from the last decade have featured Joe's work. His BFA from SCAD is for Computer Art and Animation, but his considerable skills span character and background design, hand-drawn and Flash animation, and illustration. Joe has been very involved in the Atlanta chapter of the international animation society, ASIFA and served on the board for several years.

John Phillips

Director of Business Development

A graduate of Emory University, John has spent over a decade in the creative space, building mutually beneficial relationships with agencies, broadcast networks and corporate clients. He moves freely between broadcast and new media and has an affinity for The Big Idea.

Laura Green

Associate Producer

A key member of our production team, Laura supports producers and ushers accounts through the production process. With a degree in Communications and Media studies, she is well-versed in the branding universe. What's more, her years of work with top-tier restaurateurs make her our resident connoisseur.

Lauren Fundora

Designer/Director

A recent SCAD grad, Lauren has worked in live action, as an Art Director and Cinematographer, and has directed broadcast design work for such clients as History Channel and NBC Sports. No slouch in the low-tech realm, she can call on an arsenal of hands-on skills including illustration, bookmaking and set design. Lauren speaks English, Spanish, and "the mysterious language of twins."

Melissa Sattler

Office Coordinator

Primal Screen's first and only high school intern, Melissa returned to work with us after graduating Georgia Tech with a degree in Media Studies. She also studied film in Gorizia, Italy — Bravissima! These days Melissa is responsible for keeping us organized and supplied while tending to clients who visit.

Rob Shepps

Creative Director

For the last 15 years Rob has worked and played in the field of Broadcast Design. Formerly as Art Director and Production Designer on films and commercials in Los Angeles; and for the last several years as a Live Action Director and Creative Director at Primal Screen. He has won numerous awards for work with such clients as Nickelodeon, PBS Kids, Sprout, CNN and Spike to name a few.

Rob "Vegas" Shetler

Animation Director

In his twelve years at Primal Screen, Vegas has worked on hundreds of projects, in every capacity of 3-D animation. His work stretches from child-like and endearing to weirdly off-center. Few people know his real name, but that's just because Vegas is such a good bet.

Shane McGee

Executive Animation Director

Beginning his career in television and animation nearly two decades ago, Shane has worked as a cameraman, compositor, art director, traditional animator, and CG director. He was also an adjunct professor at the Art Institute of Atlanta for many years. He has a BA in film and television from the The University of North Carolina and an MFA in animation from The Savannah College of Art and Design. Shane has led many award-winning projects over the years at Primal.

Teresa Cloud

Studio Director

In college, Teresa studied both Art History and Graphic Design and is a whiz at developing "looks." On top of that, she has an innate sense of the big picture. A ten-year Primal Screener, she often manages very large jobs, acting as liaison between creatives, production, clients and vendors.
